The social service concerns here in Pennsylvania are so concerned about running homeless people out of Pennsylvania they crippled a $30,000 hospital investment and follow up treatment. The Pennsylvania State Motto should be changed to read "You Don't Have Any Friend in Pennsylvania-Fuck Off And Die!"

The Social Work department which showed up at the last hours of my stay put little if any real effort into finding me a sitation to follow up on treatment and basically dropped me into York PA

After a week in the hospital and an estimated $30,000 in medical costs for treatment of DVT I was surprised to have the Social Worker Rebecca in my room an hour before discharge trying to arrange follow up treatment. When Bethesda Mission explained they could not accomodate persons in wheel chair she went on ahead and arranged to dump me in the York Mission which has no ability to do follow up medical treatment.

The hospital social worker was trying to make a temporary referral to this facility however the staff explained they do have an elevator for persons in wheelchairs but do not accomodate disabled persons The facility is a golden parachute program for bar flies; convicts; and dopeheads.

The beneficiary of this event was a disabled person sent to PA to have important work done in a local hospital. While most folks would have moral problem dumping a person in a wheel chair with cracked hips, broken knees, and live threatening blood clots into the street with no notice the Water Street Ministries kicked the bitch to the curb Friday night.

The Ministry staff however had a great excuse as they explained out of county residents can only stay 5 nights and after this time are denied access to food, shelter, and other accomodations. The reason as explained by management is that the City of Lancaster and City Fathers created this rule some years ago and the shelter must comply.

The York Mission is not associated with any health care program and unable to do follow up evaluation of Coumadin Levels

The manager appears on my 7th day at the shelter after I was told I could stay for 10 days and explained I have to hit the bricks. He explained out of county residents are only elgibible to stay 5 days because of rules constructed by the officials in Lancaster County.

Dr. Bret Levy diagnosed a DVT in leg and because I lack a residence in Lancaster County he recommended I follow up in York when I arrive there.

It is a busy Sunday and the several doctors explain they know I have a DVT however really can't be bothered to provide services to an indigent homeless person with no medical insurance. So for the sake of brevity the doctor prescribed an asprin.

I wanted to thank your staff for visiting me in the hospital and offering to help me apply for benefits in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately the Social Worker Rebecca was unable to effect the referral to Bethesda Mission who states they cannot accommodate clients in wheel chairs or walkers.

Another referral to Chambersburg was denied because the shelter was full and the social worker eventually sent me to York Rescue Mission in York, PA who states their shelter is not set up assist medical work. I am currently at the Water Street Ministry in Lancaster, PA and can stay for up to 10 days and will probably be required to leave the State of Pennsylvania.

I dont know if your staff could contact either of these 2 organizations to see if they could Make longer term accommodations on or about August 1, 2012:
