I was hospitalized at Providence Hospital in early April, 2010 for "chronic/acute" Deep Vein Thrombosis

1. The hospital administrative, nursing, kitchen, and even janitorial staff provide exceptional and outstanding services.

2. The Social Workers provide exemplary assistance in making a referral to follow up on housing and a doctor in Salem, Oregon.

3. Dr. Kusum B. Asudani, MD appears to reject patients medical history

4. Ignored statements of several hosptials and coumadin clinics that the patient does not work well with Coumadin.

5. Discharged the patient or dumped the patient in Salem Oregon before the "therapeutic level" of coumadin was reached

6. Discontinued lassix and potassium a 7 year established medical protocol supported by most of my other doctors to treat chronic edema in legs.

7. Declined to prescribe Diflucan for treatment of extensive fungus infection and substitued some sort of rub on powder which was ineffective.

8. Ashamed the Doctor didn't pay more attention to the patients medical history other treatment options might have proven more successful.

9. The hospital made a successful transfere to the Salvation Army shelter in Salem, Oregon for follow up treatment

The Governor has announced cut backs in state programs because of budget short falls on 5-26-2010 which probably means cut backs in medical programs-oh well.

Providence Hospital in Medford, Oregon paid a bus ticket to Salem, Oregon after verifying with the Case Manager at the Salem Salvation Army Lodge that they could provide long term accomodations for me to complete my medical work.

Wendy the Social Worker at the Providence Hospital called the Salvation Army Shelter in Salem, Oregon and made a referral for long term housing and bed rest.

The case plan approved by the shelter manger provides for partial bed rest the kitchen manager a Salvation Army Employee named Carpenter explained the Salvation Army does not accomodate persons with disabilities

As I explained to the admitting doctor at the emergency room of Providence Hospita the several previous medical facilities such as Alamance County Medical Center had found it impossible or every difficult to reach or maintain a therapeutic level of coumadin. The doctor at Providence Hospital in Medford was raining the level to 12 mg after failing to achieve a therapeutic level. Alternate treatment for instance:

150 mg Levenox twice a day; 10 meq Potassium; 20 mg of Lassix; 100 mg of Doxycilcine to treate cellulitis in the leg due to chronic infctions which resembles DVT was quite successful.

As we approach my exist date of June 24th, 2010 I wanted to request an extension based on success we have had in the last 2 month:

1. Medical doctors have had me on an expensive medication Lovenox for 2 months and I don’t seem to be having problems with deep vein blood clots and hopefully another month of treatment will clear the problem out.

2. Medical doctors have given me several powerful antibiotics and for the first time in years I feel a lot better and we are waiting for lab report to infectious disease specialist to confirm problem is resolved.

3. Dr. Katherine Hoda is proposing to do an upper and lower GI exam to find out why I have chronic loss of bowel control and determine if it is repairable.

4. Dr. Thomas is planning to make referral to vascular surgeon to see if they can repair my legs to where I can walk or stand for a longer period of time.

It should be possible to see if my problem are chronic which means they will return or if the doctors have repaired my major problems. I can get a clear idea of what else needs repaired in July and see if there is any realistic chance I could return to work as a security guard or something.

Another person known as Tim Robinson a self professed convicted felon from Polk County Oregon states he is on parole and was put in jail and violated for calling his mother on one occasion; for applying for work with the State of Oregon on another; and for having a smiley face on his resume on another. It appears that when Polk County Commissioner learn the jail is not full they require parole agents to arrest or violate parolees so as to defraud the US Bureau of Prisons in violation of Title 18 USC 372 Conspiracy to commit and offense to defraud the United States. The new leader of the much-criticized Oregon State Hospital told a legislative committee on Wednesday that he's confident about fixing flaws at the 127-year-old mental institution in Salem.

"I can assure all of you, all of the problems that exist at Oregon State Hospital are resolvable," Greg Roberts told the House Interim Committee on Human Services. His upbeat message prompted one legislator to express frustration about broken past promises to turn around the troubled hospital.

Rep. Ron Maurer, R-Grants Pass, said Oregonians are fed up with the hospital's woes, which have been documented by a series of critical reports and investigations. "It is, quite frankly, a disaster," he said. Drawing a comparison between Oregon's main mental hospital and the infamous insurance company AIG, Maurer said OSH "is not too big to fail."

At some point, he said, "If it doesn't work, we just close it down and do something new." After the committee meeting, Maurer told the Statesman Journal that he thinks legislative discussions about closing the hospital should occur if serious problems persist. "At some point, someone has to bring that up," he said. "Has anybody ever suggested it? We don't have to have an Oregon State Hospital."

Asked whether closure talks are warranted now, Maurer said: "No, I'm going to give Mr. Roberts the chance to make the changes." Roberts, 59, took the reins of the embattled hospital Monday. "Today is my third day. Everybody seems happy I came back yesterday and today," Roberts told the legislative committee, drawing laughs.

Roberts formerly was the director of the Office of State Hospital Management in New Jersey. Before taking the state hospital job here, he spent his entire 37-year professional career in New Jersey, including stints as chief executive officer at five state psychiatric hospitals. In his Wednesday remarks to the legislative panel, Roberts said he successfully dealt with many of the problems now plaguing OSH during his tenure in New Jersey. He said his initial efforts to turn around the crowded, underperforming hospital in Salem will focus on prioritizing problems that need fixing. He also wants to make sure the hospital sticks with its primary mission providing treatment that helps mentally ill patients recover and return to Oregon communities as soon as possible.
