It is Saturday night and I have been staying in the Rescue Mission for several day without apparent problems. The new desk man Bill walked up and explained as he phrased it I would receive severe consequences over something I have no idea what he is talking about. It was subsequently learned that Bill was run out of the Salvation Army for bizarre and unusual behavior.

The speaker named Terry is a distinguished looking gentleman giving the message here at the Rescue Mission on Wednesday Janurary 7th, 2009. As he openly weeps he explains that if we don't repent or agree with the church Jesus will come down out of the sky and turn us into bug squat. This is toned down somewhat from years ago when the pentacostal groups used to explain that those failing to repent and throw down would be run over the in the morning and found with their eyes hanging out of their heads....As many of the guest are sick and on antibiotics it is a better bet that something is wrong with either the food or one of the staff has an extremely communicable disease.

During a brief visit to My Brother's Keeper the staff explained I could not stay unless I agreed to give them my saftety deposit box keys. Exactly what a shelter needs with someone else's safety deposit box keys remains a great mystery.

It only takes 30 hours to arrive in Florida on Greyhound. Why Greyhound routes from San Antonio to Dallas to Houston to Florida remains a profound mystery of the world.

As the staff explained they have an 18 month program for disabled persons however cannot accept persons with SSI benefits.
